The PBY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION established September 22, 1998, is dedicated to the preservation and study of all PBY “Catalina” aircraft as well as the aviation history of NAS Whidbey Island and the role of Naval Aviation in the history of the Whidbey Island and Puget Sound Communities.
Over 4700 sq. ft. house 11 display areas dedicated to eras in history from WWII, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
Interesting artifacts include an actual PBY nose turret, a Catalina engine, vintage aircrew clothing and more… A maintenance display and beaching gear, two torpedoes and a Mig 21 tail.
You’ll find models of every aircraft ever flown
out of NAS Whidbey Island since it first opened in 1942.

Missing Man Table and Honors Ceremony
Presented by the POW/MIA Public Awareness Project. The TABLE is small, set for one, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner against his captors. The TABLE is round to show our everlasting concern and commitment for our Men – still missing. The white TABLECLOTH symbolizes the purity of their intentions. This is a hallowed display to remind us they may still be alive, or at least find “closure”. ….more
